I. To turn off "Sign in with Google":
If you want to turn off "Sign in with Google" for your students:
- go to your StoryJumper class
- click "Edit Class"
- go to Allow "Sign in with Google"? and click "NO"
- click "Save"
II. Give your students their login information
If your students already have StoryJumper accounts in your StoryJumper class
Here's how they log into their existing accounts:
- on your class page, click "People" at the top
- scroll down to the student table that shows "Name", "Login Username", and "Login Password".
- tell each student to click "Login" at the top of StoryJumper.com
- each student should TYPE IN their school email and "Login Password" shown in the row with their name (see example below). Make sure students DO NOT click "Sign in with Google".
- after your students log in, they will be asked to change their password to a new password, which they should write down. Then they can continue creating their books!
If your students do not have StoryJumper accounts in your StoryJumper class
Here's how students can join your class:
- on your class page, click "People" at the top
- click "COPY JOIN CLASS LINK" and give your students the "Join Class" link and Class password
- students go to the "Join Class" link and enter the Class Password you gave them
- when they're asked if they already have a StoryJumper account, they should click 'NO' if this is the first time they've been to StoryJumper.
If they click 'NO', students will see:
- In the first and second boxes, they should enter their First and Last names.
- In the third box, they should enter their school email address. If the student doesn't have email, they should click "I don't have email" and enter the username they want to use.
After your student clicks "CREATE YOUR STUDENT ACCOUNT", they will be asked to choose a new password, which they should write down. Then they can create their first book!
Note: Students can only have one account in your class.
So, if they already have an account in your class and they try to create another account in your class with the same First and Last names, they will be blocked. You'll need to go to your class page, click "People", and give them the login username and password on their existing account.
And if two students have the same First and Last Names, you need to decide how you will make their names different (for example, add their Middle names to their Last names)
