All student books are private, by default.
But teachers have the ability to make the student books shareable with others.
As a teacher, there are 2 ways to share student books with parents:
1) Share all the books with all the parents, like an Open House.
This is the simplest option.
All parents can see all the student books and can go to their child's book and order it.
Here's how:
- On your class page, click "Share Books with Parents and Students"
- Click "Copy Share Link" and share the link with parents using your preferred parent communication channel (email, online group, etc...). Parents can read and order their child's book.
- If any books are missing from the class library, click "+ Add All Student Books" to refresh it.
- To remove a book from the shared book list, click "X" next to the book. Don't worry - the book will remain in the student's account and in the "Review Student Books" section.
2) Share each book privately with each student's parent.
Using this method, each parent can only see their child's book and not other students' books.
Here's how:
- On your class page, click "Share Books with Parents and Students"
- If you want to print out a unique handout for each student to bring home, click "Print Private Handouts".
- If you want to share a private link to a student's book with a parent online, click on the book and the privacy level should say "FAMILY" now.
- Copy & paste the book's link (in the link bar at the top of your browser), and email it to the student's parent. Let them know that they can read and order their child's book.
